Slip & Score Double Bill: Phrases | Shhh

Slip & Score evenings are where you get to experience double the artistry, double the excitement and double your delight.

For our first edition we are presenting works from Lewys Holt and Hannah Ballou

Phrases - Lewys Holt

'Phrases' is a one-person dance, multimedia and spoken word performance. It is a minimal, reflective piece that continually shape-shifts between PowerPoint presentation, dance performance, stand-up set, private conversation, and storytelling recital.

“Phrases is fun, eccentric and clever” - Voice Magazine

Unpretentious, honest and thought-provoking, Holt offers a wonderful study in overthinking.” - Broadway Baby

Shhh - Hannah Ballou

Shhh is an ongoing live art experiment that premiered at the Yard Theatre in 2018, produced by Womxn SRSLY and subsequently developed at The Place in 2019 and revived for the Mother Art Prize show at the Zabludowicz Collection in 2023.

She must get the baby to sleep in time for the performance, but if not...the show must go on.

Don't laugh too loudly or things could get ugly

  • The runtime of all events at CLAY are an estimation.

We can't give an exact runtime for the majority if our events as often they are experimental in nature.

Work in our Programme can be anywhere from 40 - 90mins unless stated otherwise.

Additionally performances are relaxed, meaning you can leave the performance space at anytime if needed.

  • This is event is wheelchair accessible. We have done what we can to make the space accessible by including a wheelchair friendly portaloo on the floor of the event space. We also have 2 gender-neutral toilets that are down a flight of stairs that is 12 steps. Unfortunately, there is no lift in our building. The rest of the building is on one floor. Unless stated this is a relaxed performance. If you need any more information please check our venue info page here.
